Just need a recommendation on a blank that is similar to this. These are very thin and light, plus really strong. For there small diameter they can haul a bus up 200ft.

Just wondering if anyone knows how these are applied? The thread if any is clear with a band of silver in the middle. I know that Hitena has a silk aaaa thread that is clear when epoxy is applied. Just wondering if St Croix might do it differently.

I built a C266LF4. I was surprised at how sensitive it was. Blank was stunning to say the least, in the blue metallic. I used microwave spinning guides and alps reel seat. Love the 4 piece of them to make it very compact. I will build one on these blanks again.

I used a trash can blank or really inexpensive offshore blank. Or if you can find an old fishing rod or junk blank that's the right diameter. I made An Arbor and against a steel rod to go in the butt section so I could attach it to my drill. Then I used Flex coats reamer abrasive and some contact cement in order to attach the reamer paper to the blank. Flex coat has a video on their website o

I will switch the black for white, but can I use a sacrificial thread on the bottom layer to show the color of the blank? Or will this create problems I can't predict?

Can you use a sacrificial thread on the bottom layer? The blank I am using is a awesome green color, I was going to use black and purple on the bottom with 1 Sacrificial thread to expose the blank. After epoxy I was going to use the same threads but have two sacrificials, leaving purple. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Any suggestions on how to get the unibutt off without cutting it? These rods are for a customer so I am more inclined to fix it right.

I was thinking it might be a foam arbour that has failed, and there is nothing left.

What is the best way to re-secure a reel seat that is no longer stationary? Do I have to cut the gimble and uni-butt off? Is there a way to re-glue the moving reel seat? It is on a trolling rod for stripers, Tica big game.

I use to work for the airlines, I would not want that in an envelope. I really appreciate the suggestions, and I might call Mudhole and see if they can hook it up. I will also check out Utmost and The Rod Room. Anglers Workshop doesn't show them on there website or I already would have ordered them. I need some lure eyes!

Helmsman polyurethane, I did about 6 coats. I have done one with 1 coat of Lumi gloss and that has held up real well. Looks brand new! I like the one coat of lumigloss, I just have a hard time getting it out of the bottle to put on.

You right about the 1/2 inch bit, I with use 1/4 hex extensions for all up to like 3/4". I forgot I ream out for a 1/4" x 12" bit I have. You could also drill it out bigger and fill it with foam it make the handle really light.

I will drill my hole, then turn my piece to keep it true to the hole. You can also put your piece on a mandrel to turn, I do this with foam cores. I use tape arbors to keep it center. I did a inlay on a handle and found that drilling after it was turned was not the best idea. I use fostner bits with extensions for any thing bigger then 1/4 inch. This is how I drill out pepper mills when I ma

What is the best way to install these? If using tape arbor, how many do I need? (10inch butt) This is my first time using these and due to there cost I may use more of them. I am using these on ATX 6 foot, medium heavy, blanks. They are going to be used for striper fishing in the Chesapeake Bay. Any help is appreciated.

The T-wing just looks like more moving parts to clean and or break. To add 5% distance to a cast makes no difference to me. I have expensive baitcasters and I've had cheaper baitcasters. I worry more about weight, as I will probably be throwing it for hours at a time. If your casting out into open water for say, breaking fish, that 5% may make a difference. I personally wouldn't want the ext

Ive used Lumiseal on a cherry handle and it seams to hold up. Any urathane with a uv will be fine. I might just try the spar urathane method as it seams like a good idea.
