Also, the guide layout I use is a size 6 blnag, size 4.5 bkbag belly guide, bktag size 4.5 to the top, and then I end with a bfcat tip. What Alps guides are similar to these?

Hey so I have been building my casting rods with fuji guides. I use alconite guides. I would like to try a few builds with Alps guides just to see what else is out there. The ring material needs to be hard enough to stand up to braid. What ring material would you suggest? Thanks!

Hey guys so for my first question, what blank would you recommend for 1/2oz or 3/4oz football jigs for bass fishing? This is a technique I have never really done. I wasnt sure if a heavy flipping stick would be good, or something a little different. Id like to build it on a MHX blank so what of those would you recommend? Thanks! I bass fish. I have broken one rod that I built and one other rod that was store bought. The one that I built and broke was completely my fault. I was putting a reel cover on the reel and it slipped and I hit it against my foot board on my bed. What @#$%& the most is that was the most high end blank I had built on. Hey guys so I am building a spinning rod soon. I want to take the 2.5inch Winn Grips and use them for the rear and fore grip. What size spinning reel seat should I get so that it will fit flush up against the two Winn Grips without them overlapping the reel seat and the reel seat will not overlap the grips. Thanks guys!

Hey guys so I need some suggestions for a blank. I will be using it to fish for catfish and on a pier at the beach. When it comes to catfish I the normal fish will be small up to 5 lbs muds and channels. I may luck into a bue or flathead every now and then, but it will not be often. I need to it be a two piece to make traveling easier. I will want to throw from 1/2-2 ounces. Maybe slightly heavie

Thanks guys! So I talked to him and the spinning is for when he doesnt have room to cast, he basically just pitches with the spinning reel on then. Thanks Jimmy. I noticed on MHX's guide spacing they recommended 11 guides. You think I would be ok though to go with only 9 guides instead? How would you space them with 9 guides? Hey guys so I am confused as to what guides I should get for a fly build I am doing for a customer. It is a 9ft 10wt that he will be using for salmon and steelhead fishing. I was told to go for oversized guides to pass the connection knots. Also to use double footers all the way up. So I guess what I am not sure on is what size guides do I need to order, and what kind of guides? Thanks

Hey guys so I have a customer that is wanting me to build him a fly rod for salmon and steelhead fishing. I know nothing about this kind of fishing. So what I know so far is that he wants a 8'5-9ft rod and he uses 10-12lb test line. Is this enough info to decide on a blank? What should I look into? thanks!
