Hey Ray....they TidalWaves will hold up and work great on a barra rod and the 4000 reel will be no issue. We have a company in South Africa using them on surf rods and catching 100# tuna and other sizable fish on them.

We have found that the provided spacing works very well for size 1000-4000 reels. Please by all means do not be afraid to play with stripper spacing by an inch or so. We would love to hear your feedback as well. Thanks.

Lynn, we have tested the system against every other concept and system out there. We have found the Microwave system to outperform all of them (some more than others). Please give them a try if you have not already, I am sure you will like them.

Frank, it is 3.4" tall (about the same as a "K" guide, and lighter). It will be available in the set. Glenn, the feet will be ground as usual. So you can prep them the way you do now.

Chad.... there are some recommended measurement ranges that will come with the set. The measurements with the carp caster is not as precise as the standard spinning set due to the huge fluctuation in rod lengths, powers and grip lengths used for carp and surf. In the UK the mono line weights for carp are generally 15 to 20#. The larger guides will help pass all knots and also make the system compatible for surf applications where stronger/heavier lines are used.

You are correct James, it is a great choice for heavy surf casting rigs as well. The name Carp Caster is to target the second largest fishery in the world. You can see in the description that surf casting rods are mentioned.
