31. Thread
I have started wrapping a rod, and am running out of thread. I have all the guides wrapped, but still have more thread to apply near the seat.....hook keeper and such.
I am using gudebrod nylon 441.
Color: #521 charcoal size "a"
Where can I find more?
Have looked every where I know to look.
Thanks
Robin

It is Rod dancer variegated thread......doesn't say it is nylon...doesn't say NCP either.. I liked the color much better after i got the test wrap wet. It's kind of maroon colored, and the guides are black. Hope they don't bleed thru.

I have just wrapped some guides with variegated thread, and am not liking how light it looks. Will it darken up? I did a test wrap on an old blank, and got it wet and it darkened there, will the same thing happen when I apply finish? Probably don't need CP huh?

I agree with the adding of guides. They are not exactly large or heavy! So adding in my mind does not add a lot of weight!

40. Blank
What blank does daiwa use on there steez line of rods? How does one find out what blank companies use?

Ok, is there a standard for line sizes and lure weights? How do you know the action and power when a company only gives out this information....like lamiglas.

Thanks for the info Tom...
I read that, and I am still a little confused........on the cover of that issue I see there is a wrap that is red and white, that's what I am trying to get just instead of red I want orange.....

I have a question:
If I was to wrap orange and silver as my under wrap, and white and the sacrificial thread, would this make it primarily orange?
I know that I could do say orange and white as under wrap, then orange and the sacrificial would be orange, but would show the black underneath.
Rod is white and orange.....and that is all the colors I want....
Please help...

I do not know that much about surf or offshore rods, actually almost nothing! A friend of mine asked me if I would build him an eight foot all around surf / deep sea rod.......I have no clue on what to tell him.....I almost want to say that surf rods and deep sea rods are nothing alike!
Please help!

How does one ream the butt end of a split grip? Looking for tips on how this is done......can't stick a reamer thru it cause the end is solid.
