Guys I am in the process of working on a weave pattern that is proving to be a very intricate pattern and I could definitely use the assistance of someone who is very experienced creating patterns. I am not looking for someone to make the pattern for me just someone to help out

I am researching blanks for my new walleye rod build. This rod will be use for wading throwing 1/16th to 1/8th ounce jigs. I haven't ever built a full length rod so I haven't had the opportunitiy to get my hands on any of these blanks so hopefully you guys will be able to help me decide. Right now I have a pretty good list of blanks and if I have missed anything don't be afraid to throw it o

Guys I have a few questions regarding the use of PermaGloss if you wouldn't mind. 1.)When using PermaGloss as a finish the blank itself do you need to keep turning or is that unecissary? Is it even a good idea to use it as a blank finish? 2.)Can you use it as finish for guide wraps? If so how many coats does it take I am assuming quite a few more than it would with say a 2 part epoxy like

I am sure most of you already know this, but for the new builders out there please take my experience and learn from it, do not let this happen to you. Last night before I went to bed, I noticed that there was a guide on the ice fishing rod I am making for my dads christmas present that was not aligned like it should have been. No problem thats an easy fix, just CAREFULLY cut the guide off wi

I haven't had a chance to run through MHX line up yet but in order to give you the best suggestion we need to know what types of presentations you plan on using it for. I wouldn't recommend the same rod for fishing light Slender Spoons or Tingler spoons that I would for fishing heavier blade baits or chubby darters as I would for dead sticking. That being said just going off what I have heard

Col, Thank you. I agree especially on an ice fishing rod the weight you are adding with an underwrap is so negligible that it seems silly to not do it on double foot guides. I did some test wraps last night and did notice that is can be a huge pain to try and pack the over wraps but I didn't CP the unders first. I will try that today and see how it turns out. Thanks Scott

I am finally getting to the point of putting guides on my dads ice rod for his christmas present and I am using double foot snake guides for guides. I decided to go with these so I could do a nice decorative under wrap to match the weave. Having never done any sort of under wrap before I am not sure if I am suppose to epoxy them before I put the guides and over wraps on or just epoxy them all a

I am starting to get more orders for weaves done on rods and I am a terrible artist so drawing them by hand is getting to be a serious pain in the butt so its time to get a program to help me out. The problem is I work souly on Mac computers, do either of these softwares work with Macs or am I screwed?

I finally put finish on the first wrap I have ever done, its going to be a tiger wrap and I am really having a problem getting a smooth finish, there are lots of high and low spots and I am not sure how to get rid of them. I don't seem to have this problem when it comes to guides which I am assuming is because they are small and the brush comes real close to covering the entire length of the gui

Roger, That is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you. When you say "stations" do you mean just at different points or is there an equation of some sort to figure out where each "station" is?

Advertising, those people get paid pretty good money for putting striking, eye catching color combos together. Either that or look at nature, some of the most awe inspiring color combos can be found in nature.

For you ice rod builders out there I am hoping that you might be able to help me out. I am in search of a 30" power noodle style blank and I cannot seem to find one anywhere other than from Thorne Bros. I have no problem going to them if need be but I like try blanks from different companies if I can and I have already got a few blanks from them this season to try out. I know the Mudhole

I am trying to create a weave pattern for my fathers christmas present and I am really struggling to try and get it done by hand. I create a smaller 50 thread pattern but trying to increase it to 90-100 threads is really kicking my butt. Would anyone that has visual weave or @#$%& be willing to help me out? Roger, Yes it is a TB blank and you are right its a beautiful rod without the finish. I am trying to make it very themed specific (Iowa Hawkeyes) and because of that I want something other than just a plain black blank, I want this to be different than any rod out there. I was worried about the weight that the paint was going to add so I threw it on the scale today and so far I have only add
