Hi All, This is a questions to my fellow Canadians out there. I just had a shipment from Mudhole come via Fedex valued at $250.00. When showed up,the Fedex guys said I owed $44 in duties! I have bought from Mudhole before and never had to pay this. Do we as the consumer have to pay this fee? What are your experiences? If this is the case paying $42 shipping and $44 duties, it's really expensiv

Hi All, I am building a casting rod for friend for his birthday. I want the theme of the rod to be the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. Has anyone here ever tried to match the orange to a thread? BTW the blank is white and the team colors are orange black and white. I think the color scheme should turn out alright?

Hi Guys! Bill I have started reading online.Wow. A lot of info. Phil I think I will look for a fly fishing club for some one on one lessons. Russ most of what I have read basically says a 7wt medium action is a great starter that covers what I will want it for. I am still trying to determine the length though? I will be fishing from a boat.

Hi All, Do you have to add thread to the tip top? Does it actually add strength or is it for aesthetic purposes? Will the tip top fall off without it? Personally I prefer the look without thread and just a bit of epoxy.

Hi Robert, I just recently stripped the clear coat off a graphite rod using a xacto knife. Held it at approx 45 degree angle and swept it quickly towards me. Worked really well. Only took me about 1 hour and the blank was completely done. Gave it a quick sand with 800 and it looks awesome. Not sure if it's a recommended method but it worked great for me. I also did a fiberglass blank this wa
