Same to all the guys here. And to the Moderator for this site. I get a lot of mileage out of this place!

Jon, I understand your reluctance to post a link, (you're a good guy and after all it's Christmas), however if the seller is proud enough of these rods to put them on their site for all the world to see (and buy) we as rod builders shouldn't need to have any qualms about discussing them. Then again I'm not posting the link either! Merry Christmas, Lynn

Some flippers prefer right hand cranks as left hand ones can snag the line if you're not careful.

Your average Wally World rod has better wraps than the subject rods.

I had a conversation with my son (age 26) and if you've visited the site you'll notice that while the workmanship on the rods is poor, the website itself is very attractive. My son says this is what sells, and younger shoppers can get a rod for around $260.00 by clicking "add to cart" and moving on. He says the average person isn't looking at the product from a rodbuilders standpoint.

Clemens graphite blanks went under the name Custom Builder and I think (think!) they were Lamiglas. Rick this -4-91 thing, can you provide any more info? I have 89, 93, 99 catalogs.

Ya can't do too many practice tigers, and I hope you keep track of what thread you have where better than I did! Sometimes you think something should look good and it doesn't and something won't look good and it does. Some swearing may occur.

Agree with Herb, I can picture myself going thru a fortune in materials to get a good one! Love the look though. Reel seats look good with them.

Measuring from the middle of the reel seat sounds like old school Dale Clemens method.

Looking at Roger's photo, it appears the spring arm would be too short to reach the blank no matter the height of the lower rollers! Bad photo angle to tell for sure.

Matthew, Exactly which Threadmaster product do you use as a blank finish? (water based urethane) Thanks, Lynn

Thanks Guys, I find it easier if the rod turns away because the finish is drawn off the end of the bristles at the top of the rotation and I can see it flow from the brush better. The other way I feel the wrap is coming at the end of the bristles. Then again, it could be just personal preference.

During the recent Mudhole finishing demo on Facebook Chris mentions that he like the rod to turn with the guides coming up over the back towards him while applying finish. I have always done the opposite. I don't often finish under power, but in any case I turn the blank so that the guides are coming up from the bottom and going away from me over the top. Wondering what others do and (if you real

All I want for x-mas is a Gps that allows me to select a stripper and gives me a layout with recommended guides and positioning from there out! (lol) Some would call me lazy, and some would be right. Happy Holidays all.

I'm all in on changing the guides, you might be able to lighten it up a bit. If not, it'll still look better, I am one of those who does not care for Recoils. ( Minima 4's are hard to beat, but I'll never @#$%& about Fuji's, unless I can't get one I want.)
