looking for a good light inexpensive blank to build a catfish backbounceing rod on.something in a heavy,fast action.7'3-7'10.ive built a few rods but nothing like this yet and prefer not to screw up a $150 blank on my first one.thanks in advance

how about something in a 8' 1 pc blank.not looking for a broomstick but something with good backbone and a light to med tip for feeling some lighter bites.will be fishing for blue cats and flatheads.

10. tacky epoxy
it's been a week since i apllied my thread finish and its still a touch tacky.any ideas on how to fix or a reason as to why,i mixed same amounts.

i love my 8'6" power rod for catfishing.wish i cld find them in the same action in a 8' or cheaper priced blanks like them or close to build on.they are awesome for fishing with rod holders and circle hooks and i cast 4 oz with mine all the time.if anyone has some blanks like or close to them and want to get rid of them let me know.thanx

looking for a blank like what they used to build on but spiralled.is a good light blank but heavy enough to handle 10-15lb channel cats.

anyone have a easy or good way to be able to keep the thread tight on over wraps.mine seem to always walk over and leave some gaps so have to back the thread off and restart.useing a pac bay power wrapper and dual foot boat guides.do u run your thread off the top side of your spools or underside?

i should have worded it better,i am not a complete rookie as i have done rods with a hand wrapper and am looking to upgrade to power(that's the rookie part i was referring to)....
