I have been trying to find the Cason Crystal Clear color preserve, and understood the company went out of business. Is there any available now? I found it to be an excellent. easy to use and fluid color preserver, and probably one of the best I have used. I have used about all of the others, but this was for me the best. Thanks, Sanford Hochman

Well,no damage done. At least I was able to see a problem before any attempt was made to use it on a rod. It's surprising that it is sold at all.

Over the years, I have used Perma-Gloss on various rod building projects and found it to be easy to use. After each use, I keep it in the fridge, and that gives it more shelf life. I decided to try Lumiseal for my next projects. The first bottle I got had a thick gel layer which could not be penetrated. The second bottle had the same thick gel layer inside and the liquid beneath that was heavy a

What type of license is needed to sell rods from the workshop in your home or allow a marina to sell them for you? I have no employees nor do I plan to incorporate. I live in Massachusetts and I assume each state has their own laws regarding the sale of products such as fishing rods. Thanks for any help. Sanford Hochman

With the new blanks on the market, I am trying to decide on a blank for making a tuna rod. We fish off of Cape Cod, MA, and the rod should be able to take on a fish up to at least 400 lbs. I have used the Seeker blanks and Calstar Grafighter. I see now there are strong blanks such as Black Hole and ATX. I want a light weight rod that is not thick and has some flexibility. Help would be appreciate

Jay, This is a first for me. The first time they showed up only on the upper 1/4 of the rod, I sanded it down carefully with the finest (600-1000) wet dry sandpaper and it felt smooth as silk. I then used the lite Threadmaster finish that has been fine up to this point and used a new brush to put on the layer of finish as I usually do, and still they showed up again. I will sand it down again an

They aren't high spots, but tiny dimples. That's the best way to describe them. They have no diameter, just height

Thanks Terry, I have used these, and it gives a great shine to the rod. It is getting out the tiny raised "dings" that I want to eliminate. If the polish has a small amount of abrasive in it, that would help along with a good bit of elbow grease.

Is there any material that can be used to hand rub and retain the high luster of the finish and still take down any very small blips on the rod. I could do it with fine compound or pumice, but the luster would be lost. Thanks for any help.

I own a Van Staal 250 and like it a lot. I will look into it. I also have the Quantum Boca and Cabo reels and find them smooth as silk. All of them I own are too big for the rod, but I think these two brands of reels may be my final choice. I hadn't thought about the Van Staal until now. It is expensive, but worth the money. Thanks. I will be using braid and can use a heavier line which is still thinner than mono. I have tried this on Block Island and had success picking up fluke and striped bass. Since I will be boat fishing, I won't need over 250 yards of line on the reel. I live and fish on Cape Cod, Mass. where we have striped bass, blues, fluke and sea bass.. a good variety of fish. Russ, there is 39.37" to a mete

Robert,' I have a Shimano 3500, but I thought it was too heavy for this light rod. That is why I am thinking of another reel. I know there are dozens of reels, but I could use some suggestions as a start. Thanks,' Sanford

I am building a light 10-20lb 7' Boshida rod with the AT microwave guides. Can you suggest a spinning reel that I can use with braid, fishing for striped bass, fluke, albies for inshore saltwater fishing? I think it would not exceed a 3000 type reel. Thanks, Sanford
