put the seat on the rod, put a reel in the seat at the desired spot on the blank. mark the seat and blank with a continuous line on both the top and bottom halves of the seat. Put your epoxy on the blank, slide down the seat and line up the marks.

Andrew, you'll be fine either way as mentioned above. If it is a dark color D won't show much different than A and will wrap much quicker.

Great Choice of Blank! One of the best out there in my opinion. I personally wouldn't go less than a size 6, maybe a size 7 if you are contantly running your leader through the guides. I'd have to have a ring pop while you're out on the water. I would avoid bringing the knot through the guides if at all possible, unless you are using a long leader and have to. A lot of builders use the length

I'm just glad you weren't a member of PITA, haha. Today is my Birthday 'I try to get in the woods on my Birthday every year' and I knew I wouldn't be able to hunt today due to the nasty weather so I decided to sneak out of the shop for an afternoon hunt yesterday. I had a few does come by not long after we talked but decided to let them walk knowing that I'd have been twice as late for dinner

Have you thought about extending the ISJ781? That blank is 6'6 and a 6 inch extention wouldn't hurt it any. That could be your ticket. We have plenty pieces of blanks laying around the shop we can size up for you.

I would personaly single foot it, as for the blank it depends on what you are throwing at them. There are a lot of blanks int he 20lb range that would work, post up details of how you are fishing to help us offer some more specific suggestions.

I'm with ya Casey, it is a tough call depending on how you like to fish. Ultimately it comes down to which you feel you 'fish' better, not so much about what the rod weighs. I balance quite a few of my rods with the batson weight system.

Hi Joe, yes you are correct for general specs on an all around spinnerbait rod. You can get more specific regarding the size spinnerbait you are throwing and how you are fishing it but for 'spinnerbait rod' you are correct. I love the xmb843 for throwing spinnerbaits, it is light yet powerfull and you can feel every tick of grass before that 'Thump!!' we we all love. We have them in stock and

Hi Greg, a lot of good info above. I've had my Pac Bay Wrappers in use for 10yrs and they haven't skipped a beat. The ALPS chuck is a great addition as Ken mentioned. Very economical, reliable, and versatile. We are offering 20% off the prices listed on our wrappers to kick off the fall rod building season.

Gabe, if you are using regular rod bond and not five minute, you are most likely okay. Rod Bond takes a good 4-6 hours to harden and overnight to fully cure. I'd give it time before worrying about it.

Andrew, I would highly suggest taking a look at the Batson Blank line up particularly the RCJB's and RCLB's. They are very affordable, come in a wide array of actions, and will not let u down. Great advice there from Ken, be sure you don't sell yourself short. We have both lines in stock and are glad to help in anyway we can.
