I am considering building a 7 piece fly rod. Why? As my wife would say, because I don't have one! The only thing that is holding me back is finding a sock and or rod tube for protection without breaking the bank. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I ordered a couple Sig V's around Xmas. At that time he advised me that he was coming out with a 4 piece line, but would have enough 3 pieces around to cover the warranty.

This won't help you much, but a friend of mine fishes the Kettle a lot and told me that the owner of that tackle shop puts the Riffle name on practically everything he sells. He claims that's his trade mark name.

It is labeled a GF904 with a line weight of 4-5. which was not uncommon to have two ratings at that time. IMHO I would classify it in the medium fast range. It is a little heavy and bigger than todays standards, but still and excellen

I use rod bond and an old credit card cut to the proper size to achieve the taper. This is done while the rod is spinning on a dryer. A little sanding when it's dry and you are done

I built a 8'6" four piece 5wt. using this blank. It is a nice blank for the money. By the way it is one of the new Pacific Bay Green Forest blanks. In MHO it is more on the line of a moderate fast action Does not come close to a Saint Criox SCIV which is more on the line of what you are looking for. Bob at Hook&Hackle offers this blank.

Just use the drum type sandpaper that should come with your Dremel. It works very well. The only problem I have is holding the smaller single foot snake guides while grinding. Good luck
