661. Re: Liberty Blanks
That sounds really good. Your are spot on too about pouring many hours on a custom build only to have it break. Then try to figure out how to find time to build it over again when customers are waiting for new ones.
I will have to give them a try.
Thanks for the information and responce

What is the skinny on these blanks? They say they are made in USA, but by who? Is Liberty a Get Bit brand or the name of the manufacturer? I looked at the website but didn't see any warranty listed either.?
Did a little comparison on the weight and i didn't see them any lighter on the ones I compared but then there are a lot of variables out there.

A bit slow on the response but I wanted to thank those for the replys and suggestions. I bought the brayer and rolled the decals down on my next few builds and they turned out perfectly.
Thanks

Chester you may have read a little to deeply into my note. When I ssid thaey were similiar to the ST Croix I was merely using it as a reference that tthe two rodgeeks rods were of differnt quality and in now way did it say they were the same or even close to the St Criox.
Labor is less in Mexico than in the US, the graphite of both companies blanks probably come from the same supplier as do

Not a stupid question. Most are one piece offered in two versions. A carbon 2 and a carbon 4 similiar to the St Croix SCll and SClV in quality of graphite.
If you click on Rodgeeks on the left it will take you to their website. Then go to the tag Blanks at the top. At the bottom of the rods listed are the ones they offer in two piece, the rest are one piece.

So far I have only bought nine. They are as functional as they are beautiful and my customers love them. The ability to build Custom rods on Carbon 2 and Carbon 4 blanks with the 13 colors offered gives me endless possibilities ! And I will bet, just like the addition of two piece and fly rods, you may see more colors in the future. Titanium ??

Just received my K-Sun 270 decal printer and need a little advice. The first decals I made were gold on clear. The print turned out beautiful, but after I put it on the rod and epoxied it, you can see the tape is cloudy. The factory decal from AT also in gold on the Matrix blank is clear as glass.
Has anyone else experienced this? I was wondering if I needed to do anything special on the

There is a big difference between a glue that's water resistant and waterproof. Titebond ll is water resistand an will work on your grips unless you store them in a bucket of water.
Here is a statement from their website that even says Titebond ll Prememium is used for outdoor projects. As a woodshop instructor for many years the Titebond ll is great glue.

So far I have built four rods on the rod geeks blanks and have orders for two more. They are St. Croix blanks with the option of adding color. The products I have been able to produce using the COLOR of the blank and then matching color combinations for the wraps have been nothing less than outstanding according to my customers. Two have been the carbon 2 (SCll) and two are carbon 4 (

Good info on the P number Phil
Chris, You may also want to check out Pro Wrap #213 Clay. On their color chart it says that it is P. 159 I have used it and it's not quite as dark as the burnt orange.

Gabe,
If all else fails maybe you can do as I just did a few weeks ago for a Falcon Rod owner. He gave it to me for repair since a couple of the micro guides were broken asked me to replace them all. And also if I could make the rod stand out more since he felt it was rather bland with all the guides in black. So I improved his rod by adding a metalic red trim ring to the wraps and putting

That's an awesome response to Jim's question. I have a question too. If that 7.9 degree offset does as Fuji suggests to adding comfort it would be a great selling feature in building rods with the ECSM reel seats. So my question is, on the rod you just built can you feel any significant difference in that offset?
Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Bob. I'll give it a go with no CP. Yes no shade of green? I asked and he said that's all It says. I didn't want to push the issue. If I were going to remove a guide I would have had a better look at the thread but all I was doing was adding a hook keeper.

688. Thread Question
A customer asked me to put a hook helper on his St. Croix Legend Extreme rod. Looking at the thread on a guide it appears almost translucent . You can see the guide foot through it. Has anyone repaired one of these and would know what brand of thread and color is used by St. Croix? I have tried to match it with all the teal and green I have and nothing comes close
Thanks for any help o

I have e AT wrapper with the Alps chuck mounted on it. I feel the Alps is much better chuck than the AT. Version and it went right on with little modification .
My only pet peeve is that you can't buy less an a four foot extension for them.
