I had the same problem. What I do is get some rubber tape and put one single wrap on the blank don't let the rubber tape over lap each end and that works great

I like to use MHX blanks good price and light weight with the back bone you need. I have built 5 different ones fro people and they love them. I have built one for myself it's 8' and I can throw 4oz lures with it and I have fought 38" bull reds with it and it's still going strong

The Ultra V finish is the one I'm having problems with. I have always used the High build and never had problems with it. I guess I will go back to the high build. And thanks for all the info.

Thanks for all the info, but I have looked up all the sizes and diameter of threads. I was just trying to find a thread that close to gudebrod D thread. I think I have found something that will work. I found some Rayon 30wt. thread that is real close to it.. Going to try some and try it out, Will keep you posted on the outcome

Thanks Norm, I didn't know if I got it to hot that it wouldn't break down the elements in flex coat.. I was thinking about 78 F to keep it nice and warm so that I will have less bubbles when I'm mixing it.. The way I have been doing the last 15 years or so I have pu

what I do is I put wraps over the end where I'm going to cut the threads even. If I use multi colors I leave that last one off then cut the threads then I take a piece of scotch tape and cut it to fit at the edge of the thread that is wrapped then cover the ends of the cut threads then wrap my last color over that to a smooth finish. Or if one color just do it before you cut your tie off thread

Hello Everyone, Well it's been awhile since I have posted in here, I figured I would get in here and ask a question on the Pac-Bay Rod Smith RW3-XL. After about 10 years or more of hand wrapping rods, I figured I would take the plunge and bought this rod wrapper.. What do you guys think of this one. I found it brand new for $305.00, cheaper than anyone that has it
