I liked the golf grip rod I built for my brother so I started one for myself :) This rod will have a red US Reels Supercaster reel on it.

My brother's birthday is coming up and he asked for a rod. He doesn't fish; he's a golf fanatic and teaches golf for a golf club in PA. I figured I'd incorporate his passion with mine and came up with this grip idea. He uses Taylor Made golf clubs and the grips are actually quite inexpensive. The grips are a bit on the heavy side but they work very well for 7' rods.

5. NJ Bay Rod
Built this one for a friend who's dad (70th birthday) has been flounder fishing with his grandfather's old wooden rod. Dad's a retired orthodontist and the center thread in the crosswrap is orthodontist wire (titanium, not easy to work with)

19. Weaving Jig
Homemade weaving jig. Works great with dowels for practice and works fairly well when strapped onto a blank. The foam blocks were handouts from a seminar; a few razor cuts, a few numbers penned in, and viola; no cost weaving jig.

Blue epoxy ramp to match main thread color. Hard to see here but it really does match the color very well.

24. Spare Parts Rod
Ultra Ultra Light made from spare parts. Drop section Lamiglas fly rod; butt section was stepped on. Micro guide tip top and matching running guides. Butt guide was wrong size for another rod but worked OK for this one; still just a little short. Hook keeper is one of dozens that I've accumulated. Grip is a couple foregrips from a grab bag. Carbon sleeves were rejected from my own UUL build

Starting my first rod with micro guides. The surgical tubing seems to work fine when doubled up and the guide wedged between the wraps.
