Good Stuff!!! I don't know if I'll ever use it but its kind of a neat old tool. Clamped it on my "old fishing stuff" shelf in the den.

I found an old herters rod building jig with what looks like everything but the instructions on how to use it.
It's a cast iron vise looking thing with a 3/16 inch double looped wire attachment for holding the rod. there is a spring loaded clamp that looks like it adjusts the thread tension and a cork spool brake.
I'd like to find the instructions that goes to it.

I found a vintage NARMCO Conolon Catalina 1115 Saltwater Surf Rod and was wondering if anyone had an old catalog that could tell me anything about this rod.
It was made in Costa Mesa, California, by Narmco Inc. Pat. Pend. Apparently this company invented the fiber glass rods.
It's about 11 feet long, conventional guides, full cork grip. It's a really nice rod in great shape. I want to find

We have a "Extra" large thread spool accessory that comes with all the hardware that you need. You may want to look into it.
You can use the same hardware on the regular size spool shafts and if you "need" a larger spool at some time you'll already have the
accessory to use them.

Michael, Andy and I have talked about that very same thing.
I gave Andy an old cast iron clamp on the edge of the table type rod wrapper for his collection and his exact words were, "I should make some of these" so we'll see.....Smiles
