I am, for the first time applying cork wraps to surf blanks. The beginning and endings of the wrap do not adhere very well, eventhough the blanks were well cleaned using alcohol. Is it safe to apply a thin epoxy coating directly over the wrap to prevent unraveling, or would it be adviseable to thread the wrap ends before using any adhesive or cork wrap sealer? To date, everything I have read concerning choker guide placement seems to be based upon spinning reels. Is the principal basically the same for a casting reel? Can the measurement of a fully loaded casting spool be used and multiplied by 27 to get a good location for the choker?
