Building a rod for a friend and hope to take advantage of the NFC Sale. He's looking for a +7'2" spinning rod - fishing 1/4 jig heads with 3-4" paddle tails with 10lb braid for Redfish in the creeks of North FL. I'm looking at these NFC Blanks SB722, SB724, MB733, and SJ732 If anyone has gotten their hands on any of these blanks, input is greatly appreciated. NFCs specks ar

Chris - Good question Below is the guide train in inches from the tip - #5 Running Guides with #5 Tip. One break (x) on each rod is about 1/2" up from a guide, and the other seems to be in between guides. Rod 1 - From tip Guide 4" -> Break 8" -> Guide 8 3/4" -> Guide 13" -> Break 16 1/2" -> Guide 18"

Thanks everyone for your insight. Please don't think I’m implying these blanks are defective. I'm going to let the manufacture inspect the blanks and I'll honor that evaluation. If by some chance they are defective, then I can quit second guessing myself :) Having two isolated incidents with such common factors raised the concern that something about my setup may have contributed to these

Had two spinning blanks in the past two weeks experience almost the exact same failure. Both blanks are 7' Fast/Medium HM (light inshore redfish/trout) from the same manufacture but different models. Each blank snapped twice, about 12" and 6" down from the tip, during the forward swing while casting. I was fishing with my buddy when his snapped and I saw the whole thing go down.

Alot of wisdom in this thread. Thanks everyone for the input. Feel like I can confidently configure, adjust and modify a guide train using the KR Concept. I'm one that needs to understand a concept before implementation; not satisfied with just how to implement a concept. Time to order up a bunch of guides and start experiementing so I can observe how the different setups interact.

Jim, Think I'm on the right track now. Gonna go with the 16->8->5.5 group, BKs at 5" to tip, then static/adjust from there. Another question. For an initial set up with the 16h in place and the choke 20" beyond, would there be a constant distance between the 16 -?> 8 -?> 5.5 (reguardless of where the 16h lands) to get the bulls-eye? Would think this holds true for

Thanks Roger. I found a few recipies at Batson for blanks that closely match the action of this one. I'll use that info as a starting point, and work from there.

Working on a build using the Fuji KR-H Concept spinning and wondering how may running guides I should start with, and how many to order. The blank is a Rainshadow ETES72ML-CB 7'2" F action ML power. Reel will be a Shimano Static 3000 primarily w/10lb braid. I'm planning on using a 20H - 10H - 5.5M for the reduction, and 4.5s to the tip (BTBAG and BKTAG). Really not sure what to sho

I've purchaced a number of grips from Riley in the past with no issues; he is typically very prompt. Seems this past summer he got behind on orders due to other issues and a greater demand for his product. Good thing is, I just got notification that my current order is complete; so seems he is starting to catch up. If this is your first dealings with Riley, don't let it set a lasting impre

Thanks for the post Jim. My latest personal builds I used the K-R for my guide train to get a better understaning of the system. Yep, I'm getting > 20 feet on my fishing partner. Guy can't even complete when site fishing for redfish, it's almost unfair.

I'm in the same boat. Made an order about a month ago for some things I was hoping would be readily available, nothing custom. Tried multiple times to contact RR by phone and eMail with no response as of yet. Not sure how to proceed and don't want to through in the towel. Just need to deliver for my client. Luckily he understands and is being patient. I hope everything is alright wi
