thanks all. just got the blank. put it together and did a wiggle test. very nice feel to it. this is a x'mas present to my fishing buddy. will start the build soon as it is a blank. can't wait till I get this one done and see how it really feels. I know I want one now. have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year all. JW

thanks all. all my rods are 1 or 2 piece rods. since I don't need to fly I have no problem with 2 or 1. so for all that I will get the 2 piece and have fun. opps, my boo rods are 3 piece. so for the money I will try the matrix rod. JW

what in your opinion is the best, 2,3,4 sections? also I am looking at a Matrix fly rod blank in a 9' 9 wt. 2 section, that is the reason for the question, and has any of you built and or used one of these? thanks all, I always like to hear what you have to say. JW

thanks guys. I agree with all of you. puget sound area is where. mostly rivers. I have not seen anything over 40#'s here for a long time. i told him this. he said he has a friend that has a 9 or 10' 12 weight on the hood canal catching kinks, wading. how big I do not know. the guy went with this so he can bring them in fast so not to make other guys mad in taking too long to bring them in. he wan

myfishing biddy wants me to build a fly rod for big salmon. he wants a 9 or 10 ft rod in a 12#. any ideas as to the best blank for this? thanks all for any info. JW

I just got a 7 1/2' Montague somers point bamboo boat rod. the 2 halfs are stuck. I got the 2 pcs out of the furrows but the top one was cracked and they are stuck together. so my ? is can I get the orginal part or should a just order a new one that would not be the orginal. these have a step in them.
