I agree with Andrew, the BP1264-66 are my go to for salmon DR trolling rods, absolutely perfect for the application. We have a Chinook river fishery where common practice is bottom bouncing 2-4oz weights so sensitivity of the bite is paramount. The River is fairly fast and very wide so long casts are necessary but I can't swing a 10'-6" for more than a couple hrs with that weight on it.

Foam cosmetic pads here also, walmart sells a couple doz for a buck. The ones I got come precut in small triangles. I dip them in the PG like norm suggested but then I poke the tip section thru the wet foam and slowly drag it over the butt end. I have tried spinning the blank on the lathe and applying the PG with a brush and had the same results as the OP

Chris, I have had the same problem with the last 2 bottles (unopened) and so I contacted roddancer and they told me I could thin with xylene. Xylene unfortunately didnt work for me, if anything I think I ended with more bubbles after thinning? Evidently my supplier has old stock or some that froze according to the person I contacted.

Thank you all for the replies, I appreciate the info on the snake guides, I have them on all my 5wt rod but this is the first heavier (9wt) rod I have built and thought it was a better way to go from what I read? My 5wt rod has a transition of snake guides from 4 down to 2 after the strippers so what size would you recommend for a 9wt?

Hey guys I am building myself a RX8-909 and have been struggling with the correct guide size to use. The rod will be used with a floating line and heavy streamers. I was going to use a #16 and #12 stripping guide but am unsure on what size running guides. I want to use single foot guides , what size would you recommend?

Anyone ever hear of this MFG, Oceanic, Rods of Distinction I found one model 120 and wondered if anyone has any info on the rod or builder? Looks to be a heavy boat rod with wooden 2 piece grip, would the 120 designate #120 class? It really dosent seem that heavy but?

Guys, I am considering one of these labellers but I am a little unsure about the differences in the models. I want a machine that I can import my graphics (logo) for the decal but i am unsure if the 270 will allow for this or only the 360. For anyone that has a 270 were you able to do this? What about Mac support, I seen vids on PC but nothing on Mac? Thanks Paul

I found it very odd that the Lumiseal bottles did not keep the moisture out as they have a rubbery/plastic barrier seal under the cap that needs to be removed but perhaps that seal was compromised on my bottles? Tom, with regards to mfgs aiding with bad product you are correct, in all my years I have found exemplary service from most companies, this really sets them apart. I was very surprise

I have just had the same thing happen with my last 2 bottles as well….. Granted one sat on my shelf for close to a year but was still sealed, the other I bought a couple months ago simply because I had concerns that the old bottle might be dried up? After breaking thru a hardened thick skin I found both bottles had thickened to the point it was unusable, one had actually jellied so perhaps it h

Not sure if the brand I got was just a lucky one but I have used the foam makeup applicator pads from the $$ store. They come in a sheet 1" thick and precut into about 20 wedges, perfect shape and size I found. Oh and they are white if that matters
