Saw a video put out by Flexcoat on using iridescent crystals on crank baits I would like to try them in the finish epoxy on a rod some time. I think it would really look nice.

I drill from the top down and apply enough epoxy to fill the void. This is a process divulged to my by an experienced builder. Works great, but drill in small increments at a time to avoid tearing the butt on the top end.

One of the vendors at the ICBRE was demonstrating a product that will allow you to extend the length of the butt section of your rod on the fly. Check out "Adjust-A-Butt Telescoping Handle System by Manley Rods" it might just be what you are looking for.

I live in Iowa so when I was in Tampa last spring I made the drive over to visit Mudhole. It was great to see, feel, and touch the items you are interested in. It was also great to put a face to the voices you talk to when you call their office.
