IMHO - The press release got my interest, in spite of some of the rhetoric, and I went to their website... Doesn't exist yet! Hate to be negative, these might be the "next big thing" but I'll wait & see. I hope their products get to the show. Have fun everybody!

Tom, some of us old dudes like to "ride the roads" over the winter and drag our homes 'hind us. Any good advice on RV parks/campgrounds in the area? My better half couldn't care less about "rod building" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) and would like to busy themselves with other activities. Anything going on at the same time that might of interest to her? I did the google thin

I've managed to tie my brain into one heck of a knot now! I want to use the KR Concept on my next 7' medium spinning rod. My reel is an OKUMA Trio 30S. Measurements are A:99mm, B:87mm, and C:136mm. Spool face diameter is 42.15mm My problem is that I am trying to figure out the choke point. I realize that NGC and 27X are different systems and will give different results, but I'm not even s

Has anyone built on any of Janns Netcraft JMX Graphite Blanks? The price points are very attractive but I am having a heck of time finding more detailed product info, reviews, comments, etc. I've built on the MHX regular and high modulus blanks and have been pleased with the results. I'm trying to position these JMX blanks with the HMX blanks...

Does anyone know what components Abu Garcia is using on their Veritas line of casting & spinning rods? I've taken some pics of the casting reel seat and the single foot guides near the tip...

I appreciate people like Lance who answer a person's question. On the other hand, "call them" , "call me", "I'll send you a PM", or "look it up" does nothing to enrich the value of the forum. I use this forum for reading entertainment and general learning, like hanging around at the store in the old days. Please keep asking questions and giving ANSWERS.

I just finished a rod using the Flex-Lites... 1) the hard chrome is HARD! I had a VERY hard time filing the feet to shape/fine tuning. My confidence is high that the guide will function fine with ceramic ring 2) the feet quite long for the guide size 3) they are exceptionally light! I did not weigh them, but the thread wrap (long feet) must weigh more! Did I mention they are VERY light! 4

Transportation & brokerage charges for products coming from US suppliers are driving me into the ground. I try to do most of my buying from Rodbuilder Supplies in Victoria but even so, I'm not able to "optimize" my shipping costs; by buying many blanks at once, for example. Not only that, but they can't carry EVERYTHING and you're forced south. Shipping charges alone are averagin

Jim Gamble Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Method #1 > A = 80 > B = 75 > C = 90 > > Method #2 > A = 75 > B = 40 I ran these numbers in the Fuji GPS software and it shows considerably different choke points Method 1 (2025mm) vs Method 2 (1080mm). This is not to call into question the accuracy of the measurements so kindly pro

Worse than 50/50 for me via UPS! Received 4 rods, 2 broken; reported to UPS & to supplier. Supplier shipped 2 more rods, no problem. Returned the 2 broken rods in the same packaging used to receive the replacements; package STILL NOT received at supplier! To add insult to injury, UPS charges exorbitant brokerage fees into Canada. Recommend USPS/Canada Post for ALL shipping!!
