Cabela's new Platinum ZX

I noticed in the catalog that the new top of the line Cabela's Platinum ZX rods are touting the nano-silica resin the same as the top of the line St. Croix (legend elite/extreme). Does anyone know if these blanks are made by St. Croix? If they are I hope Cabela's offers them for sale as blanks.

They aren't listed in Cabela's 2012 tackle craft catalog. In any event, the nano technology appears to be from 3-M and is appearing in a number of lines. For that matter, the specific manufacturer is not nearly as important as who wrote the specifications and who makes sure the specifications are met.. Even if made in St. Croix's factory doesn't make them a St. Croix blank, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Andrew,
The catalog doesn't list the rod as "Made in USA"
I would think that is means it isn't.
The blank probably will not be available as the trend seems to be away from the rod building hobby business.
Each catalog I've recieved has less available.
At one time most of Cabela's label rods were US made but that seems to be an exception these days.
Change of management philosophy.

Sorry,
Eugene Moore
