Been out of building for a while. I am in the market for a 3 wt blank of at least 3 pieces and about 8.5 feet length. Any recommendations? Will be used for dry flies in clear water and spring creeks. Is there anything like the old Sage LL blanks? Re: good 3 wt fly rod blank

Mr. Moschler,
You might want to try either of the Rainshadow Revelation blanks listed below. I'm personally not familiar with the Sage Light Line blanks, but our 2 and 3 wt. Revelation blanks should fit the bill for the application you described above. We're also having a sale on these fly blanks right now. CTS, four models to choose from, I have an Affinity X 863-4, its is a great rod for tiny dries in spring creek conditions. Don't let the "fast action" label of this blank scare you off, it is a power house for a 3wt, but it is a 3wt, 4wt lines overload it in my opinion.
CTS has a new series called the Affinity N, that will be somewhat similar to the Sage LL, I have not built on them lighter than a 5wt, but I have found them to be deep loading blanks with a strong but delicate tip. Re: good 3 wt fly rod blank

There is a shop that has a phenomenal array of personally designed 8 ft. and 9 ft. 3 wt. blanks in his own right and also sells blanks/components from American Tackle, Batson/Rainshadow, Beulah, etc., Dan Craft Enterprises. IMO he's had the 3 wt. blank perfected for many years. Re: good 3 wt fly rod blank
