Any suggestions on a 10 or 11 ft. 4wt. blank used exclusively for nymphing? The trout are anywhere from 10 to 20 in. Re: 10-11 ft nymph rod

Dean,
I have not built the blank yet but if you want to try something on the cheap you can find 10 and 11' 3, 4, 5 wt blanks by Roger. I just picked up one for $25 plus shipping. Google it. I plan on using mine as a switch rod since I am not really into nymphing but seem like it is exactly what you are looking for. quinn Re: 10-11 ft nymph rod

I have built a couple of CTS Affinity X 10ft 4wts and also one on the Pac Bay Quickline 10ft 4wt. The people that I built these 3 rods report that they work great and they are into the euro style of nymph fishing. The CTS is going to be expensive, but in my opinion worth it. I have a gang of 9 footers from 4 to 8wt and I really like them. The Pac Bay blank is really priced right, but I did not fish the one I built. Customer loves it though. I have also heard some good things about the Sage ESN blanks. Re: 10-11 ft nymph rod

I just built a Quickline 9ft 4 wt. Very fast action. I got a 10 ft blank from @#$% by Kingfisher. I think they are the same blanks roger sells. It turned out alright. I got the blank for .99 cents so I cant complain! If I had to choose I would go with the quickline.

I got a blank by Roger before he CCS'ed his blanks, just to check it out, and I finally built it. I will call it a five weight 10'. Very low price. Casts great but doesn't feel good. Tip heavy, tired me out. Should have used a down locking seat that would help a little. It's not a really nice finish color. I just got a PacBay Quickline in the mail. Looks great, I can't wait to build it and try it out. And if I love it, I know where to get another one, I feel a whole lot better about PacBay versus #&^$.
