Version of Friday Funnies with a Turn of the Worm
Lance and I live 80 miles apart - We both sell rods - I have customers - Lance has customers - We manage to stay friends! This could be a learning experience for those selling bass rods to tournament guys who have favorite task specific rods.. I have a "very particular" customer who has two identical rods he uses for a finesss jigs. He is one of those who has many rods and is fussy about all details! Swampland has been out of the particular blank for a month. He has been freaking to get a third exact match. He took delivery on two rods this week and thought I was stalling him by not building him a third matching finesse rod. He took matters in his own hands and drove to Lance's shop to try to get something done about his problem. Lance confirmed that Swampland was actually out of stock for the rod he wanted.. Lance took the opportunity to spend the requied time to satisfy the guy - now we both got his money! This is proof that seeing is beleiving - even for tournament bass fishermen! Lance is on his A Game when cash is on the line! How did he do the deal? Lance i know you were wrapping late last night - when you read this make a post and tell the howudidit! How in the world could everyone in this deal end up happy! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/06/2012 08:55AM by Bill Stevens. Re: Velly Interesting

Hi Bill,
Good one, can't wait to hear the final chapter! Up here on Long Island some folks have to wring the last dime out of a deal. Every now and then we have a customer who goes between the more well know builders trying to get a better price from the next builder. What many don't know is that our group is accustomed to working with each other in all areas. We actually send customers to each other. So when one of these folks shows up the word goes out to be on the lookout. No deal for him. 99.9% of our customers fortunately are the best. Stay well. Capt Neil Faulkner Re: Velly Interesting

Then you have the other side of the coin.....the builder that sends the pain in the butt customer to his competition on purpose. Being smart enough to know which customers to turn away is a hard skill to learn for some. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: Velly Interesting
