Hi Marnie,
Absolutely. It contains silicon for use in embroidery machines and will give you fisheyes in your finish without it. You can put a few pieces of thread in the finish mix and that will get rid of the fisheyes but the lighter colours will turn translucent without cp. Use a good quality cp. I'm using three coats. I have wondered if after running Madeira thread through a thread tensioner, a two disc under a spring type, would leave a silicone residue between the discs. Then when using regular nylon it would contaminate the regular nylon. Has this happened to anyone or does anyone have any thoughts on this? Re: Madierra thread
