But be careful with what you put over them for finish. Anything with UV inhibitors greatly reduces the glow and how long it lasts. Re: glow in the dark thread

The easiest thing to do is a quick test wrap on a hunk a dowel, coat with you finish, let dry and see how it performs. If you only coat part of the wrap then you have a control site so you can tell exactly how much affect the finish has.
