Looking forward to it,

I'll be there too this year. Hope I don't take another fall this week while fishing this week.

I guess that you really can't call 2 or 3 guys a "contingent" LOL!! Gary, are you from MI? Would love to see a get together in MI (Janns would be a great location if we could talk them into it)!

South East Michigan near that yellow and blue school but don't hold that against me since one son goes to school in Ohio and the other one to MSU.
From my house to Jann's is about 45 min.
Cabelas in 25 min.
I was maybe going to Chicago on business but Oct 30 is the wrong weekend. Darn!!

Maize and Blue affiliations are always welcome Gary, we even put up with those MSU folks. Maybe your business meeting will get rescheduled!

Mike,

I hope you can talk Jann`s into hosting a gathering. I called just last week and I think I talked to Barb. She told me they would not host anything. They have a couple of seminars now and then but thats it. (I have been on their mailing list for a few years and have never been informed of any).

A few of us in the North East Ohio area get together every six weeks or so and would like to broaden the breakfast we have into something a little more.

If you would get something together in that general area I think a few of us could attend.

Bill

I have a standing offer to publicize these type events in the News Column in RodMaker, provided that I'm given enough notice (about 2 months). However, be aware that RodMaker reaches 15 to 20 times more rod builders than the internet does so it is entirely possible that any such gathering could become much, much larger than the smaller groups that internet advertising does. But the offer is still open.

I'm just going to throw out an idea here.
Does anyone from the Mi Ohio area want to get together just to say hi and put names and faces together and maybe talk a little shop.
While I appreciate the Chicago offer, I think some of us just can't make it.

Since it sounds like Jann's is not receptive how about meeting somewhere around Cabelas in Dundee. there's a bob evans right there and then if anybody wanted we could hit Cabelas (even though their rod building dept has been sparse lately).
just a thought and I really didn't mean to hijack the original post.

There are nearly 1000 custom rod builders in the RodMaker subscriber list between Ohio and Michigan. I'd have to believe that you could easily have a nice gathering, once you manage to reach a few of them.

Wayne and Mike,

If you think you can make it send me an Email and I'll put you on the list. We still have room for a few more.

Tom, Thanks for the offer to spread the word, next time I'll try and plan things with a little more lead time.
