Looking to build a Bass casting rod for pitching. 7 foot with fast action tip, medium heavy blank. I will be pitching 4 to 5 inch crawls & senko's with no more than 1/2 oz pegged slip sinker. What blanks would you recommend.
thanks in advance for all your help. Mike Re: Casting rod for pitching

Rogue TF 705 or MB 704. Bobby Feazel [www.shockwaverods.com] Conventional wisdom will not open the box. Re: Casting rod for pitching

For myself I would suggest the Rainshadow RX8 XMB843-TC. Re: Casting rod for pitching

I second the RX8 XMB843. Spiral wrapped with micros. Probably my favorite rod. Re: Casting rod for pitching

I'm with you guys on the XMB843....though my personal fav is the XSB843...I like the slightly softer tip of the S version for smaller plastics...built casting style. Havent thrown those particular Rogue models, but the ones that I have are very nice. Scott Sheets www.smsrods.com Re: Casting rod for pitching

I'm with the three above except I prefer the upgraded 8+ model
RX8+C843 7'0" Medium Hvy Fast 10-17 1/4-3/4oz 2.46oz. Satin Black If you are planning to throw weightless Sinko's, the one below is an incredible blank that purpose. RX8+C812 6'9" Medium Fast 8-14 1/4-5/8oz. 1.85oz. Satin Black Re: Casting rod for pitching

Thanks everyone for your input. I will get my hands on a 843 blank to see how it feels. Should be just what I want.
Thanks again. Mike Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
