During the process of going through my dad's garage I found an old Fenwick "Fenglass" rod blank. The blank has the number BT 8420 on it. I have searched and searched and cannot find out anything about the blank, ie, line size, butt diameter, tip size etc. Does anyone have any old catologs that they might be able to provide me with some information on this oldie but goodie! Thanks Re: Older Fenwick Blank

I think the BT is the designation for a boat rod. The Fenwick fly rod designation was FL or FF.
Other than that, I know nothing about the blank specs. Walt Re: Older Fenwick Blank

Bill, From a 1980 catalog I have: BT 8420 is a boat blank 7' Med action Med Lt power 18 - 25 line test .800 butt size tip size #10 Weight 7oz. They came in brown or white. Regardless of power, all have light tips. Re: Older Fenwick Blank

I have a couple of the old Fenglas casting blanks and they are sweet old blanks. Re: Older Fenwick Blank

Thanks very much. This will be my first foray into rod building. I figured I might as well use a blank I already have! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
