Has the brand of line been decided yet for the casting comp at the Expo? Last I read, .010 diameter had been chosen w/ 3/8oz. lure wt., but no specific brand. I understand that the Swamp Boyz are preparing to open a can of whup on unsuspecting casters. Be forewarned! They recently retained, at great expense, a nameless Tejas subcontractor/co-conspirator who was seen w/ a large wad of cash lurking outside a NDallas business, making the drop, and leaving w/ a mystery rotating spool. Tom, I think they're gonna need ALOT of line. Will I need an admission ticket to see this? Re: RE: a proposal(casting comp)

Jerry P. - do you happen to know if the "subcontactor" was strip searched by the staked out officers of the law?
Mr. Kirkman - Respectfully submitting the following for your consideration. Most bass fishermen (bass) utilize braids that have much higher ratings the the Berkley Fireline Barid 12 lb test that you note. Many recognize the smaller diameter line will throw furthur if all other conditions are the same such as rod length and lure weight are the same. If this is an fact a distance only contest would the contest judge allow the use of a "larger diameter - heavier braid" such as 20 - 30 or 50 pound braid from a major manufacturer which is available from retail outlets nation wide? This should diminish the distance capabilites when comparing to the line you note in your post. The use of larger lines would certainly provide no "advantage" over those who choose to use a "smaller" line to obtain maximum distance. The original packaging and a sample of the line shall be submitted to the judge and if necessary validation of no "funny business" by lie detector testing will be acceptable. You careful consideration and timely reply to this request will be highly appreciated. Swamp Boyz Re: RE: a proposal(casting comp)

We're not fishing, we're just casting and since everybody will be using the same line, it's a mute point. Everybody will use the same line.

Will a "backing" of another line be permitted for preloading the spool of the reel prior to the attachment of the selected approved tournament line if none of it reaches the tip of the rod during the cast? Re: RE: a proposal(casting comp)
