I disturbed the spacing during the pull out procedure. didn't wait long enough or got to anxious. pulled it off and the little ridges are still there and i know i'll have trouble with the new top layer if i don't smooth it back out. is there any other way besides putting another layer of flex coat on it? You can allow it to harden and then sand smooth, but the thinner the layer of finish between the 2 layers the more subtle the effect will be. It won't hurt at all to put another application of Flex Coat on. It will likely heighten the effect so you've got a bit of a silver lining here.
