Howdy

Looking to see if anyone has a recommendation for a 9 or 10 foot surf blank (spinning) for fishing the beaches / jetty for stripers. I fly fish most of the time so really appreciate ideas for spin surf blank. Looking for something on the lighter side. Will be fishing with 12 to 14 pound mono. looking to throw fin-s type plastics 3/4 ounce, 1 ounce metal, and smaller plugs and pencil poppers no more than 3 ounce.

as always, appreciate the help.

I will suggest the Seeker CSW908 and 1008. Both are composite S-glass/graphite and fast action and very light in weight and strong!! They will pencil pop fine unlike most graphite rods and are fine up to 3oz no problem! Where are you located??

Mike, do you want something that will be used primarily to throw things 1.5 oz. and under? Or do you want something that will be good for 2-3 oz. plugs? The reason that I ask is that I've been unable to find any blank that will cast 1/2 or 3/4 oz. lures as well as it will cast a 2-3 oz. plug. A blank that is limber enough to cast the small stuff will feel noodly, and a blank that has enough beef for the bigger plugs will feel stiff with a 3/4 oz. Bomber.

If you had to pick only one option, which would it be? I have a couple of blanks I could recommend, but how you're going to be using it will be a big determining factor.
