I heard about a local tackle shop that had blanks and stuff so a I went to check them out. When I got there I found out that they no longer carried blanks but they had some old ones still layingg around. The lady pull's out this 6' medium gloomis slate. I been wanting to build my wife a decent spinnig rod so I thought this would be perfect so I bought it for $50. I was wondering if this was a good deal since I'm not to familiar with that rod? She told me the rod has been laying around for about 5 years.

That depends. Is it a 1st quality blank - did it come in a bag with a header card and decal? That would allow you to peg the current or original price.

You should know by now that there will be no warranty insofar as any replacement blank being offered if you have a problem with it.

Yes it was in the bag with the gloomis tag stapled on top with the decal inside

What does the tag say?
There are a few different qualities of blank produced by then. with out more info can't really give a definitive answer.

I don't have the tag anymore?It had MB with a few numbers I think it started with 6.
