Jim,
The St Croix rep told me at High Point February of this year that the ferrules on their blanks didnt need wrapping - I feel they do! - on ALL blanks - No disrespect to their quality, I just like the added hoop strength. I doesn't take that much time to do it right and be safe. Wrap at least TWO diameters up the blank section. I like to start the required dimension from the tip forward end and wrap back to the opening after I get the tension where I want it. Having the ferrules assembled makes this operation very easy. Tip over ferrules will do OK but be careful of the spigot style as the ferrules may stick after wrapping if the tension is set too high. Good luck. Charlie tightlinerods@aol.com Re: ferrule wrap

I agree with Charles comment.
Even though not required by the manufacturer, a wrap around the end only takes a few seconds and makes the end very very much stronger with respect to splitting. Take care Roger Re: ferrule wrap

James,
Wrap them. One and one-half the diameter of the female ferrule. Herb Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
