Just wondering where are some good places to look for a table top machinist lathe?

Thanks
Mike

For smaller but very high quality machines, I'd look at the Taig and Sherline.

There are larger and more feature oriented machines available from the orient. Micro Mark sells one, Grizzy, Jet, etc., all have similar versions.

You can always try harbor freight tools if you are looking for something inexpensive. Although it is a bit more expensive, I would recommend you go to lathemaster.com Great machine with out breaking the bank for a high dollar unit.

Most of it depends on what you think your going to do with it. if your thinking reel seat inserts then the little one from Harbor Freight will be just fine, but if your thinking reel seats, then you will need a higher quality machine. Always get one size up from what you think you need, the extra length and width will be nice to have when you need it.
Try to get one that has auto feed and thread making capabilities.
