Fisher was in business for many years and once made blanks for Orvis, Winston, Scott, Biscayne and others. They folded sometime in the late 1990's.
Most of their multi-piece blanks were built around the spigot ferrule design of a fellow that I believe was named Jim Tarantino, or something like that. He was a very successful casting competitor during the mid 20th century. Most of their blanks were unsanded, with the resin ridges intact. JK Fisher made a wide variety of rod blanks, from fly to offshore trolling. I believe the famous KC Trolling blanks were made by Fisher. Fisher blanks were considered good quality, high performance blanks in their day. They also made a foray into the finished rod business for a few years towards the end of their operation. ............ Re: Fisher fly rod blanks
