Hi Bob,

How the heck are you? Feeling fine I hope. Say hi to the bride.

Looks like I went to Woodland a couple years too early. However I did meet 20 of the nicest rod builders in the NW on that trip.

Walt My son and I were fortunate enough to be able to get picked. How about you. We only live less than a hour and1/2 from Woodland. How far are you driving? We are staying at the Lewis RIVER INN.

What is going on in Woodland? I was hoping (the operative word hoping) to get in on a bit of fishing down in that neck of the woods this weekend, but would enjoy meeting some of the builders who have been generous in there information to me and others on this site.

Thanks, John

Hi John The report I have there are fish in the Lewis River and the weather is suppose to be nice, temp. in the 60's but sunny no sign of rain. You must remember our weather can change over night. So I would bring a sweater, rain slicker and warm socks. On the other hand I am also bringing shorts, Tee shirts and tinny shoes.

Bob,

I'm staying at the Cedars Inn right next door to the factory. I live in Central CA, so my wife and I are flying up on Thursday morning and renting a car. We have friends in Portland and Newberg to occupy the wife's time and attention, so I will be free, free, free! (or is that cheap, cheap, cheap?).

No, I didn't get the memo soon enough on the BYOB, but I am planning on hanging around the factory while YOU build yours. I figure I can get the gist of it vicariously, and then get signed up early for next year.

If you are planning to fish and I can tag along, what type of gear would I need? I'm a fly fisher, so would a six or seven weight handle it OK?
