5 pc 10+' rod?

Well the thread basically sums it up, wouldn't mind doing a conversion from a fly rod, looking for something in the 4-8 lb line rating giver or take.
Thanks!

What size lures/bait are you going to throw?
I would suggest a 6 to 8wt blank depending on lure/bait weight.
A general rule of thumb is blank wt/16 i.e a 6 wt would be 6/16 ounces or 3/8ths ounces while an 8 wt tosses 1/2 ounce lures quite nicely.
CTS has 2 to 9 wt blanks in 2 to 6 piece up to 11 ft.

Dave

CTS is the way to go. I know of a 9 ft. 6 in., 7 piece, 7 wt blank that may work. Not a sponsor so e mail me if you don't know the one I'm thinking of.

Thanks for the responses guys. I plan on using the rod for float fishing in small creeks. I am liking the 11 foot 6 piece rod that CTS has to offer. I am thinking a 6 wt would be fine for these steelhead as they rarely get over 5lbs. Any general ideas on what the price would be to have one of these built?

Thanks

Hard to tell with no info on the components, etc. you want.

Honestly not looking for anything special, regular reelseat and cork. Have never built a rod so I don't know about guides, but I'm not looking for a piece of art, just a rod to fish with.

Thanks!

Twice the blank cost would be about right.
