Not Really a Rod Building Question but......

Do any of you learned people know of a rubber compound I could apply to my aluminium rod holders to protect the reels from damage? I imagine there is some paint or spray on compounds which woul ddo the job..

Get a can of that stuff ya dip tool handles in. I for get what it's called.

Chris,
Maybe try a piece of tubing. Split the tubing open then slip it over and around the edge of the rod holder. There are many different sizes and colors of tubing. You may need to use a little epoxy to hold it on the rod holder or if you don’t want to use epoxy you might try double sided tape. Lynn Re: Not Really a Rod Building Question but......

Or shrink tubing to cover the reel foot? I just use masking tape over reel foot.
