Color preserve product

After many years using color preserve for my thread, reading some article on the web a dubt attack me, is the right things use it ? Many builder don't use it ,which is your opinion about my question?

It all depends on what you want your wraps to look like. With light colors, not useing CP will darken them a lot when you use finish. Re: Color preserve product

If you want to maintain the color of the thread that best it can be then you use a CP and use a couple of coats at a minimum. If you want the thread to be translucent, no CP. If you want the threat to be darker and stay that dark color,, no CP. Re: Color preserve product

Marco; If you are using NCP thread, no CP is necessary. If you use regular nylon wrapping thread, or one of the polyester embroidery threads, yes, you need CP to retain the color (it may darken them some). The embroidery threads often have silicone on them so they run smoothly in the machines, those all must have CP to prevent fish eyes in your epoxy finish. Re: Color preserve product

If you want to be able to rewrap the rod at some point in the future, it sure is easier if youhave used a couple of coats of CP. In the past I did not use CP much at all for heavy salt water rods, but Doc Ski prett much led me in the other direction and I always use it now. Re: Color preserve product
