I have a one piece 6 foot light spinning graphite blank that I want to make into a two piece rod, I dont want to use the heavey metal ferals because I want the rod to be as light as possible.
Can anybody give me some ideas on how to make a joiner maybe out of another old glass rod or simular. Thanks. Cookie Re: make one piece into two piece

There was a complete article on how to do this in the volume 4 #4 issue of RodMaker. It's fairly involved and I can't go into all the details here in a message board post. I would highly recommend you read the article.
In a nutshell, you'll want to use a fiberglass oversleeve. The reasons and the "how-to" are in the article. You can certainly make this work, but it does require careful selection and fitting of the parts. ............. Re: make one piece into two piece
