Is Rainshadow RX8+ same as SCV? RX7+ same as SCIV?

I just got the new Rainshadow blank catalogue and the specifications are identical to St Croix in the models mentioned above. The fact that there are no volume pricing discounts for the RX8+ and 7+ also make me think they are buying them from someone else. Does anybody know, or is the information "proprietary"? They are not St. Croix blanks. The RainShadow models are sourced by Batson Enterprises to their own requirements and specs. You should probably drop Bill Batson an email and ask him directly.

It is pretty well known that Batson is now getting their blanks from a different source, no?
Just because it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck doesn't mean that it's a duck, but then again, it's not too far-fetched to believe that it is some sort of waterfowl... Re: Is Rainshadow RX8+ same as SCV? RX7+ same as SCIV?

One thing to keep in mind. You are probably comparing apples to orange. I'm sure that every blank manufacture make blanks for other companies, but they aren't the same as their own. If St. Croix makes blanks for another company, they are not the same as their own. In some cases the company may even own the mandrels, not the manufacturer

I was just looking at the tip size, butt size and weight. BTW, I hope I have not asked an obnoxious question. Based upon my limited experience, I would still buy the Rainshadow even if St Croix made it just based upon the response I have gotten from Rainshadow in the past and the one blank I have bought from them. I am sure they are both great blanks and understand in the world today that people have to outsource things (even within the USA). Re: Is Rainshadow RX8+ same as SCV? RX7+ same as SCIV?

Marty, Irregardless of who made the blanks,(even if they were made for each other at the others location) they're still two of the finest blanks made. I stake the majority of my business on this. J.M. Hart- rvrfshr Prod. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
