Hello All
Thanks for the info guy's.
Everyone in this place is great.
Doc, yes Doc I understand that but I was asking(rather poorly) about size of weave compared to dia of rod for the symmetry, your weaves always seem to be the right length to dia of rod.
Bill, sounds good.
Thanks again to every on the site, it's a group effort and thats whats so great about the people on this site. Th

Hello Doc
I do all my charts by hand on graph paper, as I have no computer at home.
One of these day's I'll break down and get a home computer but have not as yet.
May I ask you this "How long are your Blue Marlins on say a 1.18in(30.2mm) dia. rod as compared to one done on a 1in(25.4mm) or a .873in(22.8mm) dia. rod?"
Thanks Doc!

I'm constructing some weave charts and left lists,(1 dragon & 1 Marlin) I saw somewhere how many threads per inch and have forgotten where.
Could some one assist me with this?

Hello Casey
When I first started Building I bought a lot of these from Jann's.
They are a little thick and you need to trim wrap them (you can not use them without a trim wrap) at the butt end first then stretch it out to the length you want it, then trim wrap.
You need your first coat of epoxy to be the light type (nice and thin) to get the air out.
Once you get the air out a good thick co

1390. Re: removing signture
Hello Gary.
I would just sand it smooth then re-wrap over it and then epoxy it.
If the epoxy on it now is reel thick, sand it down quite a bit re-wrap and epoxy it.
Heck sand it smooth then put a tiger wrap over it.
Whatever you want.

Hello John.
Thanks John, next time I go by Tom's I will take a side trip to look the area over.
The last two years the wind blew so bad the contest would not work.
2012 was windy Friday and came down Saturday maybe 2013 will be a better year.
Thanks again.

1396. Tom, EXPO Questions.
Hello Tom.
I have a few questions about the 13 EXPO?
1. Where is the RodMaker Reception going to be?
2. Will there be a display case set-up like High Point?
3. You speak of a casting area, is it indoors, and is it long enough for a casting contest?
4. If it is indoors can we have a casting contest there on Friday?(no wind or rain to hinder us).
5. If we can not have a casting contest in t

Hello R.P.
I have both wonder weavers and one like Doc's.
In my opion they all work but if you are going to do anything complicated, or all the way around the blank the WW is the better choice.
If you are just putting a name on the blank the Doc's will work fine with less setup time.
Hopefully Jim & or Doc will chime in on this one and be able to explain it better.

From Dr. Hanneman's "Common Cents System" in "Table C":
"For the upper end of the weight range: (1.5 x number of cents) - 20 = weight in grains."
"For the lower end of the weight range: (.8 x number of cents) - 20 = weight in grains"
Every thing you need to know is in the "Common Cents Info" second from the top in the spo

Most people spiral to the same side as the reel handle to help protect the guides as they spiral around the rod but it really does not matter.
