Unless we cut the number of seminars in half, choosing between them is just something folks will have to do. With only so many hours available, you can only schedule so many seminars. To get twice as many in the same time period, some have to run opposite another. I know it's tough to choose sometime, but it's just something we have to do. ..............

It depends on the conditions, but generally 24 hours is enough to dry a coat of CP. When in doubt, contact the manufacturer. ..............

Chromaseal doesn't cure - it dries. The solvent or carrier may take longer to dry in colder temps, but dry it will. Overnight is always a good time period for drying a CP. ..................

Bill said he saw someone's post about it here (possibly yours) and since he has used that method for many years asked if I'd be interested in publishing something on it. Works the same as with pegboard, but obviously takes up far less room. ......................

A plastic parts organizer bin works exceptionally well. Write the color numbers on each drawer, or cut out the color samples from the thread company charts and paste them on the drawers. ..............

The PART (PIedmont Authority for Regional Transportation) does operate an airport shuttle that runs back to the PART hub about a mile south of the airport. From there, the buses run to the High Point City bus terminal which is located 2 blocks from the Showplace. There is also a Tri-City based public shuttle/bus. I think it may reach the airport. It would only be a few bucks. I'll check on it. I know there is a depot for it about a mile south of the airport. ......................

A Mac will generally work with anything and already has the drivers installed. However, being that is an older printer, you may have to obtain one, if such a thing exists. The new article in RodMaker on making decals may well make the ALPS decal method obsolete, however. Anything you could do on the ALPS, and more, can now be done on your own ink jet ofrlaser printer. This included true metal

The airport does offer a shuttle, several of them, but they're not free. My suggestion is that rod builders coming in to the airport look for each other and share cabs. Displaying the International Custom Rod Building Symbol is one way to do that. ...............

Too much weight on a fast action rod will overload the tip, although with a timing adjustment you can work with this. Generally, a fast action rod will handle a wider range of line weights than a slower action rod. .................

To splice a broken rod I can't imagine charging less than $25. And that's the absolute bottom end. Many may not pay the price, but the fact is that some rods aren't worth repairing. Remember that the time and expertise it takes to splice a cheap broken rod is exactly the same as that required to splice an expensive broken rod. ...........................

Not all will like it, but at least they're staying fresh. Several companies have done complete updates on their websites lately. I think that's a good thing. ..........

Good idea but I'm not going to worry over supplying 2000 name tags and markers for everyone. But, you can certainly supply and wear one if you like. A few did last year. In fact, I think the NERBS hosted a name tag contest and somebody actually made one from a small, operating neon or moving electronic sign. ...............

I didn't realize they were still supplying that product. I'm pretty sure it's a nitrocellulose laquer. Although, if a newer version it's almost certainly a water based urethane. Be careful, water may be all you need. Contact Gudebrod and ask. ..................

The more "limp" or supple the line, the more forgiving everything is. That's for sure. Guide ring size has been proven to be less important, overall, than frame height where the butt guide is concerned. This is something we've known for a good while now. ...............

They charge you for the shipping, plus a fee to pack and ship it. Expect to pay more than you do for shipping if you carry a parcel to your local UPS office. But I can't say for certain what the actual dollar amount is. Still, even at twice the price, if you buy much of anything you're still going to be way, way ahead on overall cost. ...................

Cocobolo can be buffed to a high, durable shine in its natural state. Or... Prepare an alcohol bath. Use solvent (denatured) alcohol and soak the cocobolo piece in it for about 30 minutes. Then empty the container and put in fresh alcohol and do it once more. Let the piece dry overnight and finish with your choice of top coating. Tru-Oil is excellent. You will notice that pieces given s

I'm sure, but even those aren't as high as a 20 or 25. I think if you get the first couple guides up higher (you'll have to figure out how to do it) it'll work even better. The higher you go, the closer you can set the butt guide. It wouldn't look too swift, but it is possible to add height to about any of these guides if you have another guide you're willing to sacrifice for the leg and fram

Spin casting reels, spooled with mono, cast pretty darn well. Most have only size 10 openings and that opening is located only a half inch from the spool (the line never has time to get out of control). It's also aligned with the spool center. If you do the same thing with a spinning rod guide, use a very small ring but get the proper height, it'll work fine. The trouble is, you aren't goin

If it's really old and fragmenting, I don't know of any way to do it. Somebody else might. You could always oversleeve it with heat shrink and cover it simply to make it functional. But I don't think you can repair or restore truly bad or fragmented cork. ...............

If you can get the right height, even a #12 or #10 will work for mono. The reason we often use larger rings isn't for the ring size itself, it's for the height obtained. ..............

The NGC concept doesn't deal with ring sizes - it deals with guide frame height and line path. That's the important part - the line path. Conventional thinking, if you want to call it that, has been obsolete for at least 15 years now. ...............
