NGC best system I've used so far. Question, I built the rod for a reel that had a spool diameter of 2 inches. We changed reels the diameter of the other reel was 3 inches. We are using only braided line. How much distance are we loosing by using a larger reel? Things to take into consideration braid, 3 inch diameter compared to 2".Because of the larger spool fewer loops have to be made to ge

Have a lot of the high build TM.Am not pleased with my wrapes think they are too bulky.I was wondering if anyone has added acetone to the Thread Master to thin it down. Ive done the drill not using lots of TM. always turn the rod by hand letting excess accumulate, and remove. Still not satisfied. If some one has used acetone what part acetone to TM.

Im talking about a new rod I had to strip. I took some Goof Off and placed it on the blank for about 5 min.It was not harmful to the blank. I heated the guide then ran a razor across the foot of the guide and carefully cut both ends where the wrapping. .Heated the blank again and scraped with credit card. 144. stripper guides
Been using the high frame spinning guides as stripping guides. I see in the photos on this site that most guys if not all use the standard casting guides. Is it matter of preference,or is the a benefit of one over the other. It would seem to me that the high frame guides are more in line with the reel and the excess line ready to be casted.

I know you could fill a library with books written about line and weight. In your experience where would be a good starting point so I can begin to choose the proper line . This is the first rod Ive built with what I would call a medium action. I'm use to a medium fast casting rod with a quicker recovery. Im sure my casting style isn't picture perfect.I've followed the building protocol to a &qu
