I`m getting a little confused so I will not bring up the possibility of a blank having three spines. Bill

I agree with Tom and Ken. Make sure the fibres of the blank are not splintered prior to adding the new tip. Bill

I use foam arbors when ever possible,if I run out I use dry wall tape. It is a bit messy though you need to keep a lot of dna very close by. I certainly would keep away from most of the above post. I` m not saying they can`t work, I just would not try them. Bill

I use bumper paint from the local auto paint supply store it is made to flex. Also, I use a product called Bulldog. It helps the paint to adhere to the blank. Bill

Today was the day,and what a good day it was! We buit a rod, did static testing, Dec.wrapping, Prism guide wraps, decal design and application, several different grips, fly tying, and a display of vintage flies dating back to the Civil War. Our presenters were all novices, you couldn`t tell. They came very well prepared. WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF BUILDERS !! Thanks to all of you: Joe Vanfossen, Ro

My first rod was a 6` 6`` spinning rod kit from Cabelas for $49.95. I was very happy with it. If it wasn`t so ugly, I would still be using it. Bill

I`m right there with you, every issue but the first two. It runs through my mind Tom had said the first two issues have never been available to the consumers. They were published only for advertisers to look at to see if they would take a chance buying ads in a new magazine. It also runs through my mind that some of the first advertisers to buy space in RodMaker Magazine are still with him today.

Col, It certainly seems as if you are on the right track. The easiest way to find new builders is by doing exactly what you are doing now and that is let them find you. You, myself and a few others use their home town as there signatures. I`ve had several contact me that way and two of them are part of our group which meet monthly. The other way is by holding these gatherings and talk them

Hi Col. Thanks, it seems as if these groups are popping up all over.and that is great. I think most rod builders are starved for the knowledge and to be around other builders. We have a group of 8 - 12 that meet monthly for breakfast.. A lot of information is shared. I hope your group continues to grow and you build not just rods but life long friendships as well. Bill
