Kevin, You are correct "the new layout" is very user friendly> Phil, The Bronze is a PVD coated Zirconium ring, this is a special order item. Companies such as Kistler use this ring on a series of rods he produces. This catalog is also used in the OEM sales here at Batson Enterprises. Companies such as St. Croix, Kistler, Rogue to name a few use this as a reference guide to pu

Mr Kevin Knox, I have had the Batson Enterprises SS316 material tested ( Guides and tops w / rings in them) by an independant laboratory tested under the ASTM-B117 test > the same test the US Government uses to test material via corrosion with no sign of ANY corrosion anywhere on the guide after 1200 hrs. I didn't go any further on the test because I did not feel we needed to spend more mone

Wayne Hofer, Are you the same Wayne Hofer that won a Batson blank of there choice at the ICRBE last weekend? I would recommend building on the RX8+ bass blanks offered by Batson Enterprises - Rainshadow/Forecast / ALPS ( Especially since you have a free one coming). But like Rick said >find out his favorite technique to pick the exact blank you need (we have over 100 Bass blank models to c

Roger, The Sturgeon fishery on the Columbia River is one of my favorite fisheries. There are 3 different blanks that I personally use for this application. The sturgeon we target are the Keeper size ( 45" - 60") and weigh between the 20-50 lb range. But we also sometimes hook the oversize sturgeon up to 10' and 200 lbs. All three of these rods have hooked and landed all sizes of these

Those would be the Batson/ALPS new (LXN) Guidesthat we introduced last year. The features of these guides are as follows: * Exclusive Recessed Ring Design (RRD) creates enhanced gluing surface between the ring and guide frame for better durability. * Exclusive recessed ring design (RRD) also better protects the ring from impact. * Unique bracing shape adds strength without adding weight. *

I would recommend taking a look at the XST1141F-TC from the Rainshadow line. Or as Tom mentioned taking a popping Blanks say an IP840 and extending it a foot to make it an 8 ft rod. I am sur you can find something in the Rainshadow/Forecast blanks line that wil fit this appplication. What are you fishing for and where, its always nice to know. Take a good look at the ALPS guides and the Forecas

Tom, I prefer a fast action blank for this application. My favorite Float rod for steelhead ( Largere Natives) is the XST1264F-TC the specs are as follows10'6" 2 pc, 10-17 lb test, 3/8 - 1 oz lure wts, fast action, medium power, 3.36 oz blank wt. You might want to go lighter depending on your application. I am sure there is someone out there on this board that has Spiral wrapped a simular

Either one of those that you mentioned will be fine for the Salt water applications. The SS316 obviously is the BEST (X series - XTCVS3TZG), but the TC W/O chrome is a close second TCVS3TCG. Both have been tested by an independant laboratory and have passed all expectations. I personally also test them on my salt water application rods and after years of abuse they look like new..so you get the

This is one of the reasons we developed and were the first to bring to the market the substrate SS316 on guides (X series). We have tested these guides up to 1200 hrs in an independant laboratory with NO coorosion. This is the reason such OEM manufacturers such as St. Croix and Cabelas (to name a few) use them on salt water applications. We clearly state in our catalog that the LTC guide plating
