I always put the shrink tube on the grips before installing/gluing them to the blank. This way you can roll it over and hide any seams with your but cap, reel seat and winding check. By the way excellent choice on the blank. One of my favorite salt water blanks. The Whole RCLB rainshadow line is VERY popular. Thank you for your support. Hi Lou, Something in a RainShadow Fly blank would be the ETERNITY2 model. They are 4 piece models, available in 8wt, 9wt, 10wt. It is a very robust rod blank, that has a ton of back bone, but still easy to throw salt flys into the wind. It also has the newest technology available to date from us!

We have several models as well. Like everyone stated, going Titanium are the best choice, but price also comes into a factor.
