Hi Fella's ! forgive the silly question.i have never used acrylics and would like to.i noticed on the board tests done on polyester blanks and the subsequent fading problems.does acrylic hold its colour? thanks to all for any respnse! cheers , Wayne

Hi Guys! after reading the post on the types of wood finishes for grips and reel seats,i was wondering if anyone knows what the manufacturers such as struble and pacific bay,batson etc. use to finish their wood inserts? exterior urethane???thanks fella's! have agreat day!

Hi John! you want to use west system epoxy resin.use the 105 resin and the 206 slow hardener.it will give you a pot life of 20=25 min. the 209 hardener will give you even greater working time. it is likely the finest epoxy resin for boat building and repair anywhere.i have used it for over 20 years.i just restored a 1957 peterborough cedar strip 16 ft. boat.west system epoxy is the only epoxy res

Hi Scott, if your outside diameter of the blank is relativley smaller than the inside diameter of your insert.i have taken two graphite arbors,reamed the inside to match the outside of the blank.then turn down the outside of the arbor to match the inside of the insert.worked well for me,and dave is correct , if the outside of your blank is close to the inside diameter of the insert.just go ahead
